    I would start out with just one cup. It really depends on your body as to how long it will work, it’s really just a temporary fix to being tired. Try to get more sleep. Good luck.

    More sleep would be a better way to deal with it–can’t you maybe be in bed just 30-60 mins earlier?

    If you really really can’t, then I’d start with 1 cup (maybe with some milk just to get some extra protein and calcium). Minimal sugar. I cup of coffee will provide a fair amount of caffeine, especially if you’re not used to it. I’ve been drinking coffee forever and 1 cup gets me through until about 3pm, when I generally switch to juice or plain water. Try not to drink coffee after 3pm so your body can clear out most of the caffeine so you can fall asleep at night. Also try exercise (just jumping around and getting your adrenaline going) which is better than caffeine and won’t hurt your health any.

    All teenagers get tired. That’s just how your body’s clock is working at this age. Get to bed at a reasonable hour as much as possible and then there’s always the in-class nap that’s so popular in high schools. You’ll get out of your teens and your body will be back on YOUR schedule, but until then stay off the coffee. It’s a bad habit and totally unhealthy.

    I would suggest drinking more water instead. I know it doesn’t really have the same affect as coffee does but it can help to wake you up and it’s a lot healthier than coffee is for you. your body doesn’t need the caffeine that your going to put in it, your need to try and get to bed sooner and get more sleep whenever it is possible. good luck and don’t start a habit that you may regret later.
