By admin on August 29, 2011
I will be a high school senior, and i’m studying abroad with my local university. I’m not sure how much money to bring, that will be sufficient for food, souveniers and other living expenses. I’m staying with a family.

Since you are staying with a family, you obviously don’t really have to worry about rent and food.
As for souveniers, keep in mind that the euro is greater than the dollar.
I studied abroad in Barcelona for 9 months, and each month my parents sent me like $250 to spend on whatever (food and rent was already paid for). That was enough for me.
For you I would suggest bringing atleast $500, but better bring a grand, so that way you can go everywhere you want and etc. You may even want to travel to a different part of the country while you’re there. Also keep in mind that you will need to purchase a train tickets/bus tickets and etc to get from one place to another.
good luck and have fun!
