    Sorry, I don’t think there is anything like this from the US. I would suggest looking locally if you’re going to be stationed in one country for a while. For example, the UK has many pet insurance providers. Otherwise, setting aside a separate savings account might be the best option for your situation.

    I called Pets Best because they also cover vet care while vacationing with your pet overseas. I know you are permanently stationed overseas, but I wanted to see if they could work something out. The supervisor said they might be able to work something special out for you using a P.O Box that you could then have forwarded to your military address. A state side family member would have to set the P.O Box/Forwarding up for you. So give Pets Best a call and see what they say.

    I would also call all the other pet insurance companies to see if they would work something out well, so that you have several to choose from because not all pet insurance companies are created equal.

    Once you have your list of companies, make sure you do your research of each company before you buy. Go to http://www.pet-insurance-university.com to compare their features.

    Once you make your decision on which one you will buy, make sure you get their arrangement with you on paper to protect yourself.
