First, you need to be taking tylenol or ibuprofen on a regular basis for the pain. If you have a family doctor, you can call him tomorrow morning and explain your financial situation and the result you got from taking the Amoxicillin and ask if he could prescribe appropriate dosing without a clinic visit. You could also inquire whether he might have some free samples of this antibiotic you could have. You could find a free clinic in your area and go there and get a strep test done to see if antibiotics are needed. Some viral throat infections hurt just as bad as bacterial ones do but there is no antibiotic that will make them go away. Only time and your body healing this will get rid of it. In the meantime, cold fluids, pain medication, continue with the Chloraseptic, rest as much as possible and run a humidifier in the bedroom where you sleep. Same for all the rest of your family. Tetracycline is not the drug of choice for a sore throat – this is used mainly for acne/superficial skin type infections. It is very possible it would not clear it up. Last choice and most expensive is an Urgent Care where they can do a strep test and prescribe any medications if the test is positive.

Have you heard of “The lemonade diet?” It’s not just for dieting but it is also for knocking out anything minor that is wrong with your body. Also try eating garlic, and this stuff called “EMERGEN-C” That stuff really works. Also take your “Zinc” and one more thing, drink hot as you cab stand “Lemon, onion and garlic with honey tea. Believe me all this will work. I have a sore throat right about now. Hope this works for you!!!

As far as free things go, gargling warm, very salty water every few hours is probably the best you can do. And Tylenol if you have it (aspirin is OK for the adults, but NOT KIDS in this situation). Cloraseptic is really not a good thing to be using heavily for extended periods. AVOID taking antibiotics unless you have a full course of them available– taking one or two doses and then stopping is a BAD idea; it can make things worse.

If you and especially the kids are not running a fever, everybody can probably get by without needing to see a doctor, but it would be a very good idea to find a free health clinic in your area and go get a strep test for the kids. If the infection is actually strep, it has the potential to lead to scarlet fever which can be deadly.

    Best of luck.

The Jan. 5th payday you mention doesn’t sound right to me. It’s a Monday and it falls on an odd part of the month and week. It’s not weekly or biweekly. This is not how paydays are done. I hope you’re not jerking our chains.

Well after looking at your other posted questions, I’ve concluded that you ARE jerking our chains. Just last month you said you’re a college student just out of the Marines and wanted to spend your financial aid money on an AR-15. And now one month later you’re married with 3 kids??!! Oh come on, you big, fat liar!
