I am having a TPLO procedure done on my dog and was wondering how much will be covered by insurance. It’s been difficlut getting an answer from the insurance company as they need to see a claim before they can evaluate it. Thank you

Usually it is NOT covered. They seem to consider it a hereditary problem and do not cover any treatment.
But , it never hurts to ask!!!
I hate dealing with insurance companies. It’s like they sit around thinking up ways to screw with you.
I would talk to a different agent. Call the company and ask to talk to a supervisor. It’s a good idea to have an estimate from the vet handy to refer to. See if they will look the estimate and give you a written agreement based on the information given, with the understanding that other things may come up unexpectedly. Have the person go over your original contract with you. This type of surgery should be mentioned at least, so you can find out where the company stands.
Good Luck.
