tired of swallowing it, so I am spitting it into a cup. It’s like the feeling you have when you’re at the dentist and they have to keep suctioning out the spit in your mouth. I have no idea what is causing it. I am a 34 year old white male, 5′ 11″ 225, slightly overweight. I’ve been on xanax anxiety meds for the past 5 years, but NEVER had a problem like this. I am also on ambien sleep med from time to time and just had a script refilled on that one. It’s really getting annoying. The soonest I can go into see my Dr. is on Tuesday morning. I don’t have health insurance, and it’s a free clinic where I live here in Ohio. Oh yeah, I just had my blood glucose level checked by a pharmacist 2 days ago for diabetes. I hadn’t eaten for 12 hours, and my score was 92. It’s probably just some kind of cold or something, but it’s really annoying having to spit every 3 minutes. Any suggestions? I’m allergic to cats, but we don’t have any pets, I don’t smoke and I drink occasionally, beer
My diet is pretty much, coffee, orange juice, banana for breakfast
Lunch usually a footlong subway turkey breast on wheat, light mayo, lettuce, tomato, green pepper
Dinner- varies, Chicken, whatever wife makes really, usually a salad
Snacks – maybe a piece of chocolate or pie here and there, not much
drinks – glass of wine here and there, couple beers
drink lots of water, a couple diet cokes a day
that’s about it
I exercise 30 minutes per night on a treadmill in our basement
Well, I was always pretty stocky, I played ice hockey in High School. Was usually in the 180-190′s range through my 20′s. The past 4 years I did pack on probably 40 pounds. I have the build of someone like Scott Peterson.
As far as xanax lady, you have no idea how hard it is to get off of it. It’s almost impossible. I only take 1 per day. .5 mg. It’s VERY hard to get off of it.
I think it might be because you haven’t been eating properly?
What’s your diet like? Maybe your mind is craving something.
sometimes medications will make you do that. im pretty sure its the medication your taking or have taken in the past.
That’s a good idea about the medication. Why don’t you search the web about the meds your on, and see if this is a side effect?
Also search about this salivating, and see what else might cause it. And search diabetes.
And unless you work out, and are muscular (and I mean almost a pro athlete level of working out, with weights as well as cardiovascular), 5’11″ and 225 is more than ‘slightly overweight’. You’re extremely overweight and might want to look into that you (especially if you’re a type 2 diabetic). According to a couple of BMI (body mass indexes) I checked, you are now obese! You BMI is 31.4, and obesity starts at 30.0.
So considering you are only 34, you might want to look at that before it gets worse as you get older.
And as you take care of your diet, and exercise, you might find you don’t need all these meds.
Also look at alternative health measures. A good site is Dr. Mercola’s, which is listed below.
Do you know that diet sodas are one of the causes of obesity? For every diet soda a person drinks a day, their chances of becoming obese go up 10 percent, so for you, a couple a day is 20, 30 percent. Cut that junk out! Diet soda tricks your body into thinking you are not getting enough calories, and you eat more. So drink even more water, you’re on the right track there. Watch your portion size, I bet you are eating too much, even of healthy food. It will be easier when you stop the diet soda, as you’ll probably feel full sooner. Check diet and portions sizes on the ‘net, a lot of good sites there. And the booze, any amount, packs in empty calories too. Two, three drinks a week, max.
Oh, (don’t get mad) but being on xanax for five years is scary. This is a highly addictive medication. I knew one guy who spent two weeks in detox getting over Xanax. You might want to deal with your anxiety by exercise more (it’s great that you do the treadmill) and again, diet. But don’t go off xanax all of a sudden. Be careful and maybe get a second opinion. But do you really want to be on this drug the rest of your life? Sometimes panic attacks are due to amino acid and vitamin defiencies, so you might wan to check into that too.
Good luck in finding, and using your solutions!
